Did it today in Orchard Road, at around 5 pm.
(that means crowds of people were rushing like ants from their offices!)

Fearing that I would crush into one, I started walking by looking back constantly.
Then I realised they could see me going backwards.
So they would step out of my way.

    Which they did!
So in the end, I could actually walk without looking back for up to 10s!
Try it and you will know it is a LOT!

The best part: being able to look into people’s eyes while they walk in the same direction as you do. Just this time, you are facing them!
    :)

PS. As I am leaving today to Indonesia for 10 days, will try there and let you know how it goes (if i get internet :D)

  • I tried it today but next time I should chose a more crowded place since only 2 people noticed me. But it was FUN!

I tried it yesterday, when I was going to the gym (12:00 pm). Was so crowded with people who were out for their lunch.
It wasn’t so fun cause I had to look all the time behind. My neck was in pain after awhile. And I got late to my gym class :(
Today I forgot about it!! Maybe later, when I’m going to meet my husband and I will trust in others to step out of my way.
    Interesting task, Radu!
    :)

As walking backwards is a little boring after a while, I tried running backwards - you get into it really fast and if you choose the right track you don’t have to look back all the time. The more running partners you have the more fun.

I really enjoy overtaking the “normal” forward runners and tell ask them: “Are you sure you are running into the right direction?”

    Walk backwards - Think forward!
